About Aliso Viejo, California:
Aliso Viejo, a community consisting of nearly 45,000 people, was recognized as Orange County’s 34th city when incorporated on July 1, 2001. The city, located four miles from the Pacific Ocean, is recognized as a robust and dynamic community designed to meet the growing needs of young families, professionals and enterprising businesses. It is a balanced community with opportunities for housing, jobs, multi-modal transportations, and recreation. Aliso Viejo was the first planned community in California to provide a balance between its estimated 22,000 on-site jobs and the resident workforce. The City of Aliso Viejo is comprised of numerous neighborhoods administered by more than 100 sub-associations. This is due, in part, to the unprecedented growth the city has seen in the last 15 years. In 1990, the city’s population was 2,000. It saw an increase of 30,000 people in a span of just 10 years, the largest increase in population among its South Orange County neighbors. All homes are located within 2.5 miles of the Aliso Viejo Town Center. This “downtown” includes over 800,000 square feet of retails shops and stores, restaurants and medical offices. More than 500 businesses with over 10,000 employees are located in Aliso Viejo. There are 23 parks in Aliso Viejo consisting of 2,600 acres with amenities including tennis, soccer, baseball, tot lots, hiking trails and picnic tables. The Grand Park Outdoor Amphitheater is located in the Aliso Viejo Town Center. Points of Interest include: Pectin Reef (pale ontological preserve), Aliso and Wood Canyons Regional Park and the Aliso Creek Trail.
